Pronounced "Ba-clue", this is the only individual business in Moffat we are comfortable in linking, mostly because so many of the people who run businesses in Moffat became dear friends. However, we feel that this has got to be the nicest place to eat and drink in town. And if you go to the Buccleuch, please tell our friend John, the head barman, that we think of him often.

Fern Villa Guest House
A wonderful B&B run by the equally wonderful Catherine and David, this B&B provides the perfect base for exploring the rugged beauty of Scotland's Glencoe, Rannoch Moor, and beyond. Catherine and David provide beautifully appointed rooms, a sumptuous breakfast (with lovely homemade porridge), and an unequaled knowledge of the area. A terrific home away from home for travelers who appreciate excellent service and top-notch accommodation.

Breakfast is generous and served with a smile and delightful conversation. We cannot recommend this B&B more highly.

He lives on the Isle of Skye and from there creates fine Celtic jewelry and traditional Scottish knives. Garth will give you a warm welcome and enjoys answering questions about his indescribable work. We highly recommend a visit to Duncan House when visiting Skye.

I was honoured to have my photograph grace the cover of this wonderful debut novel by Katie Gates. The Somebody Who is the uplifting story of Evelyn Bennett, a woman at a tipping point. Davy - her beloved husband of 47 years - is still alive, but he is no longer available. His dementia has robbed him of his capacity to share his wisdom, humour, and love; and it has robbed Evelyn of the man who brought spirit and levity to her life and to the lives of their four children. As Evelyn takes action to cope with the situation at hand and to understand its impact on all the relationships around her, she also revisits the past. And she learns that a part of Davy may indeed still be present.
